Agricultural challenges and future job opportunity of Ethiopian agriculture

In the future decades, ensuring food security is one of greatest challenges in Ethiopia. Most Ethiopians practice mixed agricultural activity which represents about 36.8% country`s GDP. Therefore, this paper devoted to reviewing existing and prospects country. Majorly, it focused on shortage farmland, climate change, fragmentation degradation unevenly distributed constructions urbanizations, pests, lack integration among stakeholders, political instabilities, its prospects. Despite numerous challenges, Ethiopia has marvelous opportunities like commercialization fruit, vegetable, ornamental plant productions. The country also ample opportunity areas animal production that ranks first Africa number livestock heads. a huge labor force water resources. It proximity Middle East markets valuable transport fresh products within short period time needed destination. However, Ethiopia’s current for export are very limited because fragmented cultivation quality. great variety soil types enables grow diversity horticultural crops. emphasizing agriculture requires as well economic commitment all parties concerned.
